How to Measure for a Dog Ramp

In addition to figuring out what type of dog ramp you need, it is important to measure for your dog ramp to ensure you find the correct size.

Selecting a dog ramp that is too short will result in a steep grade, which can be dangerous for your pooch.

Choosing a longer ramp will decrease the steepness of your slope and be more comfortable for your pet.

You will need to measure the following:

  • The total height of the car/bed/couch
  • The available distance without obstruction measuring straight out from the highest point
  • The total usable width of the area

Getting a ramp that suits your dog is quite a challenge, and getting your dog to use it can be tricky too! We've created a guide to help you though. Visit Our Blog to  learn How To Teach Your Dog To Use A Ramp in 2 Days With 7 Easy Steps!  and know which will best suit your furry friend.
