Measure the height of the couch, bed or car floor, then compare it with the stair height on the listing. The Furtastic steps have a 12cm step height and come in 38cm and 50cm sizes. The i.Pet foam stairs have a 40cm top step on the 3-step and 51cm on the 4-step. The VEVOR aluminium car stairs adjust from 24 to 25.4 inches, about 61 to 65cm.

Will dog stairs reach into a 4WD or ute?

Only a lower one. The tallest stairs in this range top out at about 65cm, so a 4WD or ute with a high tailgate or tray is out of reach. For those, a longer dog ramp for cars is the better pick. Stairs suit hatchbacks, wagons, SUVs with a lower floor and side doors.

What is the weight limit for dog stairs?

It varies. The i.Pet foldable steps and folding stairs are listed to 76kg, the VEVOR aluminium stairs to 150 lbs (about 68kg) and the MC collapsible ramp to 65kg. The foam stairs and the Furtastic steps don't state a limit, so ask us if your dog is near the top of a range.

Foam or plastic dog stairs: which is better?

Foam stairs are soft and light, with a detachable washable cover and a water-resistant base, and they arrive vacuum-packed. Foldable plastic steps fold flat for storage and wipe clean. Pick foam for a soft feel on low furniture, and plastic if you want to fold them away or take them in the car.

Are dog stairs good for older dogs?
