Container Ramps

Choosing the right container ramp for your forklift comes down to your load, container height and how the ramp will be used. The right setup should give your forklift a stable transition between ground level and the container while making regular loading and unloading easier.

Before choosing a container ramp, consider these key factors:

1. Check Your Required Load Capacity

Start with the combined weight of your forklift and the heaviest load you expect to carry.

Your forklift container ramp needs a suitable load capacity for the equipment using it. Check the rated capacity of the ramp against your operating requirements before making a selection.

2. Consider the Container Height and Ramp Length

Ramp length affects the gradient your forklift needs to travel.

A shorter ramp can create a steeper approach, while the correct ramp length can provide a smoother transition into and out of the shipping container. 3. Check Forklift and Ramp Compatibility

Consider the width and wheelbase of the forklift that will use the ramp.

Your container ramp should provide enough usable width for the forklift to travel across it comfortably while maintaining appropriate alignment when entering and exiting the container.

4. Compare Ramp Materials & Features

Different operations may require different ramp designs. When comparing container ramps for forklifts, consider features such as construction material, grip surface, connection method and any edge or side protection.

Steel options may suit applications where high load capacity and repeated use are priorities, while other designs may offer advantages depending on your equipment and working environment.
