Q: What length ramp do I need for a 1.2m high ute?

A long one. For a high ute, see ramps 3m to 4m long , and use the "Will it reach?" check on the ramp's page with your tray height. Driving a cart or buggy up? Ask us first, as it may need longer still.

Recreational Ramps for Bikes, Quads and Skaters

Recreational ramps for the things you ride. Motorcycle ramps are single ramps for dirt bikes and road bikes. ATV ramps are pairs and wide ramps for quads, golf carts, buggies and UTVs. Skate and BMX ramps are backyard half pipes, quarter pipes, ledges and jumps. Loading more than one machine? Pick ramps rated for the heaviest, wide enough for the widest tyre, and long enough for your tray.

Recreational Buying Guide

Which Page Is Yours

• Motorcycle ramps: single ramps, one wheel track, for dirt bikes and road bikes. Some have a walkway beside the bike.

• ATV ramps: pairs and wide single ramps for quads, golf carts, buggies, side by sides and ride-on mowers.

• Skate and BMX ramps: timber half pipes, quarter pipes, grind boxes and jump ramps for the backyard.

• Motorcycle stands: front and rear stands lift the bike for cleaning, chain work and storage. They're on this page.

One Set of Ramps for Several Machines

Plenty of people load more than one thing: a motorbike and a mower, or a quad and a golf cart. One set of ramps can do it if it's rated for the heaviest, wide enough for the widest tyre, and long enough for your tray.

• A pair of ATV ramps covers quads, mowers and golf carts. Check the capacity is for the heaviest machine plus the driver.

• Wide tri-fold ramps and 3-piece sets take a motorbike, a mower or a quad, and give you room to walk.

• A single motorcycle ramp is only for two wheels.

Tray Height and Ramp Length

Measure from the ground to the top of the tray, trailer floor or van floor. The higher it is, the longer the ramp needs to be.

Pushing a bike up, a slope of about 1 in 4 works: roughly 1 metre up for every 4 metres along. Driving a golf cart or buggy up needs a gentler slope again, so go longer. For high utes, see ramps 3m to 4m long.

Every ramp's page has a "Will it reach?" check: type your height and it tells you whether that ramp suits. More in understanding tray height before buying ramps.

Weight: Add the Rider or Driver

Check the capacity on the listing against the full load.

• Walking a bike up beside you on the same ramp: add your own weight.

• Driving a golf cart, buggy or UTV up: add the driver.

• Pairs are rated for the pair, not each ramp, and the listing says which.

Folding, Curved or Rigid, and How They Attach

Folding ramps fold in half to carry in the ute or trailer. Curved ramps have an arch near the top so a low machine doesn't bottom out as it rolls onto the tray. Rigid ramps don't fold, and are simple and strong.

Lighter ramps rest on rubber tips; heavier ones hook on with a loading plate or locking pins. Always strap the ramp to the vehicle before you load, and use the support legs if your ramp has them.

More in curved vs straight loading ramps and ATV loading and unloading safety tips.

Motorcycle Stands

Aluminium motorcycle stands lift the front or rear wheel off the ground for cleaning, chain work, tyre changes and storage.

• Rear stands hook onto swing arm bobbins or lift under the swing arm with V attachments.

• Front stands lift under the forks.

Check the limit on the listing against your bike. Some front and rear stands are made to be used as a pair.

Ask Us What Fits

Frequently Asked Questions

Can one set of ramps load my motorbike, mower and quad?

Yes, if it's rated for the heaviest of them and wide enough for the widest tyre. A pair of ATV ramps, a wide tri-fold ramp or a 3-piece set will load all three. A single motorcycle ramp is only for two wheels.

What length ramp do I need for a 1.2m high ute?

A long one. For a high ute, see ramps 3m to 4m long, and use the "Will it reach?" check on the ramp's page with your tray height. Driving a cart or buggy up? Ask us first, as it may need longer still.

Is the price for one ramp or a pair?

Motorcycle ramps are sold as one ramp, since a bike needs one wheel track. Most ATV ramps are sold as a pair. Every listing shows what you get under Sold as.

Will these ramps get a child's quad bike onto a trailer?

Yes. A small quad is light, so most pairs of ATV ramps will carry it. Measure your trailer floor height and check the length on the listing.

Do the ramps fold up to carry in the ute?

Many do. Folding ramps fold in half, and tri-fold ramps fold in three. Rigid ramps don't fold. The listing shows the folded size.

Do you sell motorcycle stands?

Yes. Aluminium front and rear motorcycle stands for cleaning, chain work and storage. Some are made to be used as a pair.

Can I ride BMX on the skate ramps?

Yes. The timber skate ramps suit BMX riders as well as skateboarders, with galvanised steel coping and toe plates. See skate and BMX ramps.

I'm not sure which ramp I need. Can you help?

Yes. Tell us what you're loading, roughly what it weighs with the rider or driver, and how high your tray or trailer is, and our team will point you to the right ramp.
